Success Stories of DOMOTEX, 16-19 January 2016 in Hanover/Germany.

At DOMOTEX 2015, the world’s leading trade fair for carpets and floor coverings, the Art Weave by Fletco Collection from Fletco Carpet Tiles was recognized with the Innovations@domotex label. The following success story shows how these woven carpet tiles with their organic print patterns add a dynamic touch to Intal’s new open-plan office.

Intal’s headquarters are located in a cube-shaped building in the industrial park of Opmeer, a small community north of Alkmaar. The building’s street-facing side showcases the company’s products that range from innovative aluminium window frames to entire design concepts for building façades: the façade of Intal’s new headquarters, for example, features a design that uses differently-sized-and-shaped aluminium frames. The 600 sqm open-plan office was designed as a creativity-supporting environment with club-like interiors. For the flooring, architect Jeroen de Nijs (Amsterdam) selected carpet tiles from the Art Weave by Fletco Collection because of the tiles’ industrial look. Their dynamic surface is reminiscent of authentic concrete structures and therefore perfectly matches the building’s architectural concept defined by concrete walls and exposed ceilings. Contrary to those features, the Art Weave tiles have a sound-absorbing effect, thus contributing – besides the furnishings – to pleasant acoustics, a quality that is of particular importance in an open-plan office, as de Nijs points out. Made from woven and digitally printed polyester, the Art Weave tiles are available in four various designs. Their organic patterns are based on natural structures and organisms. The tiles are produced as self-adhesive modules with a TEXtiles backing and come in four different, combinable sizes. The product’s properties are certified with a Life Balance seal. High-precision laser cutting prevents edge curl and guarantees perfect fit. The carpet tiles chosen by Jeroen de Nijs for his design of Instal’s headquarters are suitable for both private and commercial interiors. Woven and printed carpet tiles are just one example of the many options in contemporary floor coverings from which architects and designers can choose today. These types of flooring made of new materials are just one example of the many options in contemporary floor coverings from which architects and interior designers can choose today. At Domotex 2016, designers and creatives working in architecture, interior design and design will find a wealth of inspiration for customized applications in the area of flooring. Domotex has long established itself as the world’s most important flooring exhibition: the place where architects and designers meet and update themselves on the latest trends and innovations.
