Adriatic Wood Days (AWD) comprises four thema¬tically related and yet programmatically separa-te international conferences in the field of fore¬stry, wood processing, energy from wood, furniture production and creative industries. In Dubrovnik, more than 400 participants, leading experts from business, academia, politics and the media will, du¬ring 4 days, analyze situation in these sectors and seek optimal solutions for improvement opportu¬nities.
AWD is the largest and most comprehen¬sive sectoral event in this part of Europe, and the participants will adopt conclusions and propose recommendations to decision-makers of sectoral policies at the regional, European and global level.

AWD will present market developments and show the trends in the related subsectors to the sector companies, their owners and managers.
It is a good opportunity for the leading EU and national of-ficials, especially those responsible for the preparation of future po¬licies and strategies, to meet with stakeholders, sector associations, clusters and non-governmental sector, to exchange useful ideas and expert opinions. AWD will give an insight into the existing techno¬logical equipment of the sector and provide an opportunity for te¬chnologies and services suppliers for the presentation of innovative solutions that will increase the sector competitiveness. Wood and forests can improve European Economy. Sustainable forest management provides a good basis for the development of related industries in the EU. The situation in the sector is different in some parts of Europe, but experts agree that this sector has one of the best prospects, especially in the context of highlighting the important role of the future European green economy, of reducing emissions and emphasizing of environmental protection. Great perspective is in creative indu¬stries, which can use wood in smart way for new growth and thus additionally strengthen the glo¬bal position of the EU economy.
