The import of Spanish plywood has increased by 14.2%

The import of Spanish plywood has increased by 14.2% hence reaching the figures of 45,089 m3 from January until September 2013. According to the statistics revealed by the Spanish Wood Importers Federation (AEIM) the softwood and hardwood plywood imports experienced an especially large upturn, improving 19.7 % to 34,602 m3.
Spanish tropical plywood imports, on the other hand, slipped marginally by 0.8 % to 10,487 m3 in the first nine months of last year.
The Spanish Timber Importers´ Association (AEIM) is a private organization which gathers timber importers in Spain. Also timber agents and shipping agents belong to the Association as attached members.
AEIM also is member of the main international organizations of the timber trade including the “European Softwood Conference” along with the “European Hardwood Federation”.
